Centre of Mobile Technologies in Warsaw

Samsung will open in Warsaw its first Center of Mobile Technologies (CMT) in the Central Europe this autumn. In the first stage of the investment - until the end of 2008 - the Center will employ over a hundred specialists.

This will be the 6th Samsung R&D center across the world. The new center in Warsaw and those in India and Cina, enlarged by the employment of he specialists, will mainly engage in mobile phone software development and its adjustment to the needs of specific markets.

- Samsung gives high importance to the long-term growth of the developing markets, such as Central Eurpe, India and China. I foresee a continuous strengthening of our position in these regions, owing to effective research centers - said Geesung Choi, the president of Samsung Telecommunication Network Business.

The decision to invest in Poland has been based mainly on the high level of qualifications of the Polish IT specialists. They will be responsible of testing and developing the software. As the company stated, the recruitment process has already been started. To the end of 2007 the Center will focus on expanding its testing section, which includes software tests and UI (User Interface).

For seven years now in Warsaw Samsung has operated an R&D center, which develops the software for digital satellite television. The other company's CMT are located in Undia, Great Britain and China.
